Why Pronouns matter to Rockland…

Rockland respects gender identity. We understand that we cannot assume to know each others’ pronouns by our names or appearance. We practice (and we are not perfect) sharing our pronouns to create a supportive community for all people. When we make assumptions about a person’s gender identity, it can be hurtful. Rockland aims to build a welcoming space for all people and will normalize sharing pronouns to achieve this goal.
